Have a red RS2000. Saw one today for the first time in ages. They have, I’m told, become quite valuable.

I’m looking at some with price tags of £10,000 to £30,000.

Similar prices to Ford Focus Mk2 RS s.

I have an unfortunate habit of forgetting that the twin-headlight, slightly-sloped-grille Escort actually existed.

Oh, they did. They were quite the thing once. Nowadays a Mk2 Escort just looks old and oddly narrow.
Top tip: if you find yourself with one, hang on to it and lock it up. Bits are becoming unobtainable and people steal them for parts.

I thought they’d got to more than that but that’s probably the rally specials with BDA engines.

I’ve never been overly keen on the Mark II Escort, to be honest—or, at least, not to nearly so great a degree as the Mark I Mexico, and RS 1600. The front clip’s just too plain by comparison.
Oh, if I got ahold of any variety of RWD Escort, it’d go straight in the garage, to appreciate and eventually fund my PSA habit.

Unless the rally special has some real special pedigree or historical significance even they go for around £30,000. There seems to be a ceiling for these sort of cars. Maybe there are still too many of them to be really rare and have high prices.
